Expense categories

Plan bills without rebuilding each month.

Choose the categories you need, set amounts and schedules, and keep your plan current as things change.

Built-in categories

Choose from 20+ categories, including rent, groceries, and utilities. Add each to your budget with the settings that fit your household.

Custom categories

Create your own names for costs that need a separate place in your budget. Use recurring schedules or occasional entries.

Flexible schedules

Plan weekly, every two weeks, twice a month, monthly, or yearly. Choose the dates and amounts for each recurring expense.

Spending thresholds

Set a monthly threshold for a category and choose whether to alert at or above it, or only above it. The threshold is separate from the planned amount.

Income sources

Plan around your paydays.

Add salary, freelance work, or other income sources. Set recurring dates and amounts, or choose occasional income when there is no regular schedule.

See the next expected date and amount, search sources by name, and review estimated monthly income in Allocation, by source or member.

Allocation includes unpaused recurring sources and excludes transfers. Estimates come from your schedules; use the Income Registry to track what you record as received.

Example · Income sources
Income sources October 2026
Paycheck
Next income expected $2,250.00 Every 2 weeks

Expected Fri, Oct 23, 2026

Last amount: $2,250.00

Freelance work
Default per entry $350.00 Happens occasionally

No scheduled date

Expected dates and amounts come from your saved schedules. They do not confirm that a payment has arrived.

My Cards

Keep a familiar label on your spending.

Name your debit and credit cards, choose their appearance, and assign them to expense entries or a CSV import. Use Cards usage to review the spending you record against each card.

Cards are tracking labels. No card number or bank connection is required, and the app does not show live balances or make payments.

Example · My Cards · Sample data
Credit
Debit

Use names, colors and issuers to identify how you paid. No card numbers or bank connection are required.

Optional automatic entries

Reduce repeat typing for recurring items.

Choose recurring income or expenses to record automatically on their scheduled dates. Entries use the amounts you set. Review and correct them when actual amounts differ or plans change.

Pause a schedule to stop its automatic entries and reminders. Set category spending thresholds separately from planned amounts; import results also show thresholds reached by expenses imported for the current month.

Automatic entries do not pay bills, charge cards, move money, or confirm that a payment happened.

Example · Your schedules
Automatic entries October 2026
Internet
Next expense planned $64.00 Monthly · 20th

Planned Tue, Oct 20, 2026

Annual membership
Next expense planned $96.00 Yearly · October 25th

Planned Sun, Oct 25, 2026

Automatic entries use the amounts you set; they do not pay bills. Review them when plans change.

Reminders

Give upcoming bills and paydays your attention.

Choose a reminder 1–10 days before a scheduled income or expense. Reminders appear in the app and arrive by email according to your notification settings.

Control reminder emails to your sign-in address in My Account. You can also set an additional notification email address and manage it separately.

Pausing a schedule stops its scheduled reminders. Turning off reminders to your sign-in email does not turn off an additional address.

Example · Rent reminder settings · Sample data
Rent
Planned amount
$1,250.00
Schedule
Monthly · 1st
Remind me
2 days before the planned date

Delivery follows your notification settings. A reminder prompts you to review the bill; it does not make the payment.

CSV imports

Bring in transactions with less typing.

Upload a CSV from your bank or card provider. Check detected dates and amounts, review category or income-source matches, and choose any missing matches. Confirmed selections can help match later imports.

Possible duplicates are flagged by date and amount against existing entries. Remove or hide rows you do not want before confirming. Review expense, income, and net totals, and optionally assign imported expenses to a card.

Recent import summaries show dates, counts, and totals. The app retains the last 10 completed imports per card, plus 10 without a card; this limit does not remove the transactions you imported. The CSV file itself is not saved.

Registries and transaction history

This month in detail. Your history within reach.

Record income and expenses in their own registries. Use List for individual entries or Checklist to compare registered totals with the scheduled amounts for the selected month.

Filter by member, update several eligible entries at once, and print or export your transaction history. Expense entries can include a payment card; income entries belong to an income source.

Browse your saved transaction history. Choose earlier months and years in either registry, back to your first recorded entries, or explore a custom date range in Transactions. Monthly and yearly subscriptions include the same history access, with no plan-based year limit.

Checklist status counts entries against scheduled dates. It does not confirm that a bill was paid in full.

Example · Expenses Registry checklist

Rent 1 entry Complete

Statuses count entries against scheduled dates. The bars compare registered and planned amounts; neither confirms a bill was paid.

Loan and savings calculators

Explore a few ways forward.

Change the inputs, save scenarios, and compare estimates within each calculator.

Loan calculator

Enter a loan amount, annual interest rate, and term in years. Add an optional extra monthly payment to estimate monthly payments, total repaid, interest, and payoff time.

Savings calculator

Model an initial deposit, monthly contributions, annual interest rate, and term in months. Choose daily, monthly, quarterly, or annual compounding. See projected savings, total deposits, and interest earned.

Save and compare scenarios

Save up to 10 loan scenarios and 10 savings scenarios. Name, edit, duplicate, or delete them, choose a baseline in each calculator, and compare balances by month on a chart.

Loan comparisons show changes in payments, interest, and payoff time. Savings comparisons show changes in monthly deposits, interest, and ending balance. Results are estimates based on your inputs.

A view of your whole household

Members report

See income and spending by household member. Add names for your household. Set defaults on income sources and expense categories, or assign individual entries. Compare income and spending each month in the Members report.

Shared keeps household entries together. Unassigned collects entries without an individual or default member. An entry’s own assignment takes priority over its category or source default.

Members are labels within your account. They do not have separate logins or access to your budget.
