Welcome to Budget Leashed! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our web-based budgeting platform, available at www.budgetleashed.com ("Service").
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Budget Leashed LLC, a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of Texas ("Budget Leashed", "we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.
1. Overview
Budget Leashed provides digital tools for budgeting, expense tracking, income planning, reminders, and reporting. Our platform does not connect to your bank accounts. You provide financial data through manual entry or CSV import. You can also enable automatic entries for income and expenses based on schedules you set up to reduce repeat entry.
2. Account Registration
To use Budget Leashed, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Provide a valid email address and create a secure password
- Confirm your email to activate your account and start the free trial
- Keep your login credentials confidential and secure
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
3. Subscription & Payment
Budget Leashed offers new users a 14-day free trial with access to all features, starting when they confirm their email. No payment details are required to start the trial. A subscription is required to continue using the product after the trial ends.
- Your trial does not automatically become a paid subscription. To subscribe, choose a monthly or yearly plan in My Account and confirm your subscription and payment details through Stripe checkout
- If you subscribe during your trial, your subscription starts immediately and the remaining trial time stays free. Your first billing period starts at the original trial deadline shown at checkout. Subscribing does not restart or extend the trial
- If your trial has already ended, billing starts when you complete checkout. The plan price and any applicable discounts or taxes are shown by Stripe
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the selected monthly or yearly interval until canceled
- Subscription fees are non-refundable unless required by applicable law
- You may cancel renewal at any time using Manage subscription in My Account, which opens the Stripe customer portal
- If you cancel before the first billing date during your remaining free time, your subscription ends at the original trial deadline without a subscription charge. Once billing has begun, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, including a period discounted to zero
Access continues until the scheduled end date shown in My Account and the customer portal. Cancellation does not grant an additional billing period. Existing subscriptions and trials previously activated through Stripe retain the billing dates and cancellation terms agreed at checkout.
Payments are securely processed by Stripe. Budget Leashed LLC does not store full payment card numbers or security codes. We retain subscription and billing records, such as Stripe identifiers, plan, price, status, and billing dates, to manage your account and access.
4. Data and Privacy
You retain full ownership of all data you enter into the platform. Budget Leashed LLC does not sell your personal or financial information. Our data practices are governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or interfere with the Service or its underlying systems
- Share your account credentials or provide unauthorized access
- Use the Service in a manner that could harm, disable, or impair platform performance
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
6. Service Availability
While we strive to provide reliable access to the Service, Budget Leashed LLC does not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Temporary interruptions may occur due to maintenance, updates, or unforeseen circumstances.
7. Termination
You may delete your account at any time through your user settings. Upon deletion:
- Your subscription will be canceled
- Your data will be permanently deleted
- Data recovery after deletion is not possible
For new trial accounts that have never subscribed, the full trial ends fourteen (14) days after email confirmation. We retain your account and budget for at least seven (7) more days so you can sign in and subscribe through My Account; product access is not extended during that period. After this period, the account and associated budget are eligible for permanent deletion. We send reminders before expiry and a warning with the possible deletion date, allowing at least seven (7) days after a deletion notice is sent. Check the date in the notice or My Account. Deletion may occur later than this deadline. This trial cleanup does not apply to accounts that have previously subscribed.
If you cancel your subscription without immediately deleting your account, the cancellation takes effect at the scheduled end date described in Section 3. After your subscription ends, access to the Service may terminate, and your account and associated data may be permanently deleted following a grace period of at least thirty (30) days, except where limited information must be retained by law (e.g., billing or tax records).
Budget Leashed LLC may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or misuse the Service.
8. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind. Budget Leashed LLC is not a financial advisor and does not provide financial, tax, or investment advice.
You acknowledge that all decisions made using information from the Service are made at your own risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Budget Leashed LLC’s total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount paid by you to Budget Leashed LLC in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
9. Modifications to the Service or Terms
We may update or modify the Service or these Terms from time to time. If material changes are made, we will notify you via email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
If we change subscription pricing, the new price will take effect at your next renewal, and we will provide notice at least thirty (30) days in advance so you can cancel before the change applies.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
